The Late Crowd, LLC ("Late Crowd," "we," "us," or "our") operates ScreenGen™, a service of The Late Crowd, LLC, available at https://screengen.tv/ and related ScreenGen application URLs (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have.

ScreenGen provides on-set screen tools with Free and Pro membership plans under a ScreenGen account. We do not use advertising or marketing tools. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used.

How your media is handled depends on the feature and your plan: some features process content in your browser; some use short-lived uploads; and Pro members may store durable project media with our infrastructure providers as described below.

1. Information We Collect

Content and Media

How content is handled depends on the feature and your plan:

  • On-device / browser use. For many features, images and other media you load are processed in your browser on your device and are not stored as part of a ScreenGen account library.
  • Short-lived uploads. Some features (for example pairing or similar session features) may temporarily upload media so another device can display it. Those files are deleted automatically after a short period and are not kept as durable Pro library storage.
  • Pro library media. If you have an active Pro membership, you may upload and store project-related media as part of your account. That media is stored with our infrastructure providers under your account. Free members do not receive durable cloud media storage.
  • You retain ownership of your content. We do not use your media to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and we do not sell your media.

Account and Membership Information

When you create a ScreenGen account or purchase a membership, we collect information needed to operate your account, such as:

  • Display name, email address, and password (stored securely)
  • Membership plan and entitlement status (for example Free or Pro)
  • Project and scene library data you save (titles, settings, and related information)
  • Usage toward plan allowances shown in the Service

Paid memberships are processed through our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers; card details are handled by Stripe as described in Stripe's Privacy Policy. We may send transactional email related to your account and membership (for example sign-in help or billing notices). The Service uses cookies and similar technologies as needed to keep you signed in.

Pairing and Device Control

When you use pairing features, we process pairing codes and related session information needed to connect display and controller devices. Content and commands are delivered to the devices you pair. If you use your device camera to scan a pairing code, that camera input is processed on your device for pairing and is not stored by us unless you separately upload media.

Automatically Collected Technical Information

Like most websites, our servers and hosting infrastructure automatically record limited technical information when you access the Service, such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Date and time of access
  • Pages or features accessed

This information is collected in standard server and infrastructure logs and is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, including detecting and preventing abuse. When you are signed in, some technical logs may be associated with your account for security and support.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and how visitors use the Service — for example, which pages are viewed and general usage patterns. Google may collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages viewed. Google may set analytics cookies or use similar technologies. This information is processed by Google as described in Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics' data practices. We use these reports only to understand and improve the Service. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or retargeting.

Stock Media

If you use stock fills in the Service, a third-party stock media provider may process the request under that provider's practices.

Information We Do NOT Collect for Advertising

We do not:

  • Use advertising or retargeting pixels
  • Sell or share personal information for advertising purposes
  • Use your uploaded media for advertising targeting

Cookies

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. Google Analytics may set analytics cookies (or use similar technologies) to distinguish visits and measure usage, as described above. The Service may also use strictly necessary browser storage (such as cookies or local storage) to keep you signed in and to make the Service function on your device.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above only to:

  • Operate the Service and provide the features you request
  • Provide ScreenGen accounts, Free and Pro memberships, Projects and Scenes, pairing, and Pro library media
  • Store and deliver Pro library media through our infrastructure providers
  • Enforce plan limits and delete data when you delete content or your account, or when retention periods end
  • Process membership payments through our payment processor
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the Service, including preventing abuse, spam, and unauthorized access
  • Diagnose problems and maintain service quality
  • Understand usage of the Service through Google Analytics so we can improve it
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing emails, or automated decision-making that produces legal effects. We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK, and Similar Jurisdictions)

Where laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR apply, we process personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract / steps prior to contract: Creating an account, providing Free or Pro features you request, storing Pro library media you upload, and processing membership billing.
  • Legitimate interests: Maintaining logs and security measures, and measuring Service usage with Google Analytics, is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating a secure, functional, and improvable service.
  • Consent: Where required for non-essential analytics or similar technologies.
  • Legal obligation: Where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use third-party providers to operate the Service on our behalf, including hosting and infrastructure providers, our payment processor (Stripe), Google Analytics, email delivery providers, and stock media providers when you use those features. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us and under obligations to protect it.
  • Paired devices. When you use pairing, content and commands are delivered to the devices you connect. You control who can join with a pairing code.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
  • Business transfers. If The Late Crowd, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy's commitments.

5. Data Retention

  • Browser-only / local content: Content processed only on your device stays on your device and is cleared on a short schedule.
  • Short-lived uploads: Temporary uploads for pairing or similar session features are deleted automatically after a short period.
  • Pro library media: Retained while your Pro membership remains active and you have not deleted the content or your account. If your membership changes from Pro to Free, uploads of new durable media stop immediately. Existing Pro library media is retained for a limited grace period and then permanently deleted, unless you return to Pro during that period. If you delete a project or scene, associated media for that project or scene is deleted. Archiving a project does not delete its media. If you delete your account, your account data and Pro library media are deleted immediately.
  • Account profile and library information: Retained while your account exists, and deleted when you delete your account (subject to backups and legal holds as required by law).
  • Server logs: Retained for a limited operational period, unless needed to investigate abuse or comply with law.
  • Analytics and billing records: Retained according to those providers' practices and applicable legal or accounting requirements.

Canceling a membership is not the same as deleting your account. Account deletion is described in Your Privacy Rights below.

6. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States or in other regions used by our providers. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States (and potentially other regions used by those providers), where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal information
  • Object to or request restriction of certain processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

If you have an account, you can access and update much of your information in the Service, and you may delete your account (which cancels billing and permanently removes your cloud library and Pro library media). Limited billing or legal records may remain as required by law. You may also contact us at support@screengen.tv to exercise applicable rights. We will respond to verifiable requests as required by law.

California residents: We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit. California residents may exercise applicable rights by contacting us using the information below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

EEA/UK residents: You may exercise the rights described above by contacting us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@screengen.tv.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Service, please contact us at support@screengen.tv and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the Service, including encryption in transit. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for who you share pairing codes with. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be indicated by a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
