What ScreenGen does
ScreenGen turns a phone, tablet, or computer into an on-set screen — VFX plates, phone looks, social feeds, and cueable video or stills — so the camera photographs a real display instead of a blank prop.
Two things it is built around:
- The take. Arm a beat, clear the chrome, lock the screen, roll. Controls are meant to disappear.
- The prop. The device in frame is the product. Pair a supervisor remote or drive up to eight displays from one project.
The workflow at a glance
Once these click, the rest is screens that do what their labels say.
Install
Add ScreenGen to the Home Screen so the browser chrome is gone. Open the icon, not the tab. See Install on a device.
Pick a mode
Plates for keying and lighting, Social for feed and vertical skins, Phone for iOS and Android looks, Video for a local recording or a still.
Dress, cue, hide
Fill Content (or Screen) for the shot. Arm a cue when the beat is timed. Hide UI — and Take lock if the display has to stay clean. Full walkthrough: Getting started.
