Cues, hide UI & take lock

ScreenGen is built around the take. Arm the beat, clear the chrome, then fire — from the display or from a paired remote.

When cues apply

Cue controls appear for Phone and Video modes (Playback and Still). Plates and Social do not use Fire cue — just hide the UI and roll.

Trigger delay

Set Trigger delay from 0 to 60 seconds (default is often 5). Tap Start in Cue, or Fire cue in the quick-actions bar. You’ll see countdown / progress feedback. Use Cancel to abort.

On devices that support it, you’ll feel a short haptic when a cue arms or fires.

Screen power & screen wake

  • Screen: On / Off — blacks out the phone display as if the screen is off (phone modes).
  • Screen wake — starts black, then fades the display up when the call or notification fires (call, messages, text, and notifs — not Home).

Hide UI

Tap Hide UI (or the header close control) so only the stage is visible. Tap the stage again to bring controls back. After a few seconds of idle time, controls may auto-hide on their own.

Take lock

Turn Take lock On when you need controls to stay gone for the take. While locked:

  • Controls stay hidden
  • Triple-tap the screen to unlock

The app reminds you: “Take lock: triple-tap the screen to unlock.”

Suggested take: Dress content → set delay → optionally enable Screen wake → Hide UI → Take lock On → Fire cue (or trigger from the remote) → roll.
