Shooting

Supervisor remote

Keep one device in frame and run the shot from another. The display shows a six-character code; the controller joins from a second phone or tablet by scanning the QR or typing the code.

Pair the controller

  1. On the display — the device in frame — tap Pair Remote in the top bar. A six-character code and a QR code appear.
  2. On the controller, open screengen.tv/remote.
  3. Tap Scan QR code (live camera, or Use photo), or type the code under Pairing code and tap Connect.
  4. The controller shows Waiting for phone…, then Phone connected with the live mode.

Scanning the QR opens the remote with the code already filled in. Codes expire after 24 hours, and one controller pairs to a display at a time — a second phone trying the same code is told a controller is already paired.

Starting a pairing needs Pro on the display. The controller itself does not sign in; it only needs the code and the same site. For true fullscreen on the controller, install ScreenGen to the Home Screen from Install on a device — the join page offers the same prompt while you are still in a browser tab.

What you can control

From the remote you can sync mode, Picture Adjustments, markers, social fill, phone content, playback settings, take lock, and screen power. Use the sticky Trigger / Cancel controls for cues, and Play / Pause / Restart for video. In Still mode, upload a PNG/JPEG and set Scale To Fill or Scale To Fit.

Managing the connection

  • Bring the code back on the display with Remote code in the top bar — the same chip, relabeled once a pairing exists.
  • Disconnect on the controller detaches that phone and leaves the code live, so the same or a different phone can rejoin.
  • Cancel on the display’s code overlay ends the pairing outright.
  • If the code expires or the session drops, the controller says Phone session ended. Enter the code again.

Uploads from the controller

Video and still files chosen on the display stay on that device. Files sent from the controller are short-lived and deleted after 24 hours — video up to 50 MB, stills up to 25 MB, photos and app icons up to 5 MB.

Why use it: The supervisor fires the ringing call or notification off-camera so nobody reaches into the frame to tap Accept.
