Install on a device

ScreenGen is a Progressive Web App. Installing it removes the browser chrome so the prop can go true fullscreen — ideal for hero phones and tablets.

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

  1. Open screengen.tv/home in Safari (not Chrome).
  2. Tap Share (the square with an arrow).
  3. Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Open the ScreenGen icon from your Home Screen.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open the app URL in Chrome.
  2. Use the browser menu → Install app / Add to Home screen, or tap Install app if ScreenGen offers it.
  3. Open the installed icon for fullscreen.

Computer / TV plates

In a desktop Chromium browser, use Install / Add to Dock (wording varies) so ScreenGen runs in its own window. Useful for monitor or TV plates.

On-set settings

  • Set device Auto-Lock / sleep to Never for long holds.
  • ScreenGen requests a wake lock to keep the display awake — keep brightness moderate so the device doesn’t get hot.
  • Phone and social looks read best in portrait.

Updates

Installed Home Screen apps don’t always refresh themselves. When a meaningful update ships, ScreenGen may show an Update available message asking you to remove the icon and reinstall. Follow How to reinstall in that prompt, then open the new icon.

Your dressing and settings are stored on the device so they come back the next time you open the app.
